I have received the access codes. How do I now distribute access for my students?
Below are the steps to guide you in distributing student access to myNelson:
  1. The access cards that you have received are 5x7 in size. These are peel and stick.
  2. Distribute books to students.
  3. Have your students apply the access code sticker on the blank endsheet facing the copyright page of the book.
  4. Important note to remember: Do not stick the access codes on the cover in case you are planning to rebind the book. You will need to be able to access these codes for future use of the online resource or for students enrolled in the course in future semesters.
I have access codes for Digital-Only products for students. How do I distribute these to my students?
Below are the steps to guide you in distributing student access to myNelson:
  1. Distribute access cards to students.
  2. Have the students register on myNelson if they do not have an existing user account yet.
  3. Have the students log on to myNelson and add the access code to their account. The product will appear on their dashboard.
  4. Collect the access cards from the students and keep them in a safe place. You will need to retain these for future use of the online resource or for students enrolled in the next course in future semesters.
I teach in a semester school. Do I need to have new access cards for students the next semester?
  • No, there is no need to purchase new access codes, this is because each code is tied to a unique username and password. New students in the next semester must register with a new username and password and add the access code on their dashboard in order to access the resource. Once this is done, access for the previous student who used the resource will be deactivated.
  • Access codes can be used multiple times as long as the subscription is still active. However, access cannot be shared; only one student can use an access code and get access to myNelson at any given time.
  • Please note that students' highlights or bookmarks from the previous semester will be cleared for the new user using the same access code.
If a student drops a course, can the access code to their text be reset mid-semester so another student can use it?
Similar to the previous question, there is no need to reset or generate new access codes. The next student who will use the online resource must register on myNelson with a new username and password, and then add the access codes to their account.
What happens if a student loses a book with the access code?
